In Memoriam: Bill Sharpe
Bill Sharpe was found dead in his office on State Street in Tampa on April 2, 2012.

Sharpe owned Tampa Marketing Co., publisher of the South Tampa Community News, which distributed 25,000 on a monthly basis in that area. About a year ago he started Tampa Epoch, a monthly paper that was sold by the homeless on Tampa street corners. His goal was to help these individuals earn some extra income.

He joined the Community Papers of Florida (CPF) last year, and attended his first conference at the Tradewinds Resort last May.

Sharpe was known for his community service work organizing many community events. He was a city council member for South Tampa and Davis Island.

Police termed the death as a possible suicide.
