CPF's Annual Conference Returns to Familiar Site
The Community Papers of Florida (CPF) will return to a familiar site for its annual conference in 2010. The conference will be held April 30 - May 1 at the Renaissance Orlando (Airport) Hotel. CPF has used the Renaissance seven times in the past nine years.

The board's decision was based on the Renaissance's great rates, outstanding Seville and food, and a central Florida location that is convenient for its members.

The nonsmoking hotel was recently redesigned with new guest rooms, more meeting space, bold colors and an exciting decor boasting subtle touches of Caribbean flavor.

All rooms include high-speed Internet access, three telephones with voice mail and data port capabilities, a plug in panel for laptops, MP3 players, digital cameras and video game players, and a big screen LCD HDTV. A coffee maker and refrigerator are also included.

A tentative agenda for the conference will focus on print and Internet sales. The conference will kick off on April 30th at 1:00 p.m.

The first session will be "Print is Alive and Well." Other sessions will include "Demystifying the Internet" and "The Web Sales Process."

Peter Lamb will moderate a sales panel forum, "The Road to Sales Success: Stories & Strategies." The presenters will be sales reps nominated by their publishers based on 2009 sales results.

The Leadership Institute (TLI) will provide two training sessions, "Prospect Your Way to Increased Sales," and "Answering Objections Through the Art of Questioning and Listening."

The Awards for Excellence banquet will be held on Friday evening. The conference will conclude Saturday with CPF's long-standing tradition, the Kentucky Derby Reception.
